New Groomer Shed
The Sugar Camp Snowmobile Club has existed for over 50 years now, and the club has decided that it is time to build our very own groomer shed. Updated size and space will allow us to house our very nice grooming equipment under a heated roof and provide club members a cozy place to hold meetings and get club work done.
The club has made it public knowledge that we are moving forward with this plan and we are asking for donations on top of our club's own fundraising efforts to help us with this great undertaking.
At this time we are still at the early stages of fundraising, but the club has received permission from the Town of Sugar Camp to look into placing our building on Town Hall property and we are looking into quotes for a building. Others in the community have (informally at this time) voiced their interest in donating free labor that relates to their professions in any way that they can help.
Below are some rough computer doodles of our current vision. Scale is approximate, basically napkin doodles but the napkin was a computer. The building is roughly 58 by 55 feet with two drive-in and drive-out stalls for the John Deere tractors and drags. Another door is for our old (but still beautiful) Pistenbully with room in front for an office/meeting room and a restroom.
Thank You to all who have already donated as well as the immense community support we receive in our beautiful Sugar Camp, WI!

These first two images just show where the club proposed to the town where we would like our new home to be; parallel with Camp 4 Rd, just inside the pine tree line. Just want to be clear, this does not mean anything is finalized This is all still at an exploratory phase.
The following images are some 3D models of the future vision.

We have received quotes for all the big stuff and have established a rough goal of $250,000!
As you can see we have a long way to go but would like to point out that we have already received many local businesses and individuals that are willing to donate time and their expertise from their professional careers to help us out.
The Club will also be making plaques of some sort to acknowledge the large donators that will be a permanent part of our new home.

Groomer Shed Update 3/11/26
Hello snowmobile enthusiasts -
We had amazing turnout at our 2026 Ice Fishing Jamboree which netted us a generous profit as well as a donation of $11,000 from Pitlik's Regatta and $11,000 the Eckes Family Foundation!! We are now over $65,000 and moving nicely towards our $250,000 goal.
Quick side note: profits from the Jamboree do NOT all go towards the building. The Ice Fishing Jamboree has been a long time fundraiser for the club, so a lot of its funds are allotted for normal Club functions and therefore most of that money cannot go towards our new building project.
At our Club Meeting last night, 3/10/26, some discussion was had and decisions were made to keep steady forward progress on this goal.
As a club it was decided to pay large chunks of money towards our current Tractor loan when we can. The faster we can pay that off, the better; when the tractor loan is gone, we plan on taking out a loan for the building.
Some thoughts from myself and the other officers: if you have questions or input about anything on this or any other club topic, PLEASE attend our meetings. This is all discussed and we invite questions during that time. Questions and concerns come to us outside of the meeting that have already been addressed, and on the flip side, if you have a new question or idea and you're not bringing up during the meeting, that information is easily lost and not beneficial for the club. The meetings are once a month, and usually under an hour.
We've seen good growth in our fundraising, but we are by no definition flush with cash. Our equipment is expensive to buy and maintain and costs are steady and only go up. As a club we wish we could throw more of our incoming funds towards the new building, but it's not that simple.
Plain and Simple, more snowmobilers from Sugar Camp at our meetings is desired.
For all you have donated already, thank you! There will be a plaque or some other form of acknowledgment recognizing all who contributed to this dream mounted inside the building upon completion, with levels of contribution distinguished as follows:
- Gold - $10,000 and above
- Silver - $5,000 - $9,999
- Bronze - $2,500 - $4,999
The Sugar Camp Survivors Snowmobile Club is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, so any donations of money, land or other assets can be written off. Tax ID: 39-1175794. Donations can be mailed to Sugar Camp Snowmobile Club, Attn: Debby Running, 3761 County Hwy. A, Rhinelander, WI 54501

Groomer Shed Update 2/5/25
Hello Club Members -
With the start of another winter season quickly approaching, we wanted to give an update on the groomer shed fundraiser.
Quotes have been obtained from multiple companies for a building with approximate dimensions of 60’W x 54’L x 15’H. The building will be insulated, heated, and plumbed with a bathroom. Our hope is to not only use this building for groomer storage, but as a meeting place and office.
Electrical, septic, well-drilling, plumbing and heating have also been quoted by Sugar Camp businesses and individuals, many of which have graciously volunteered to donate time or give substantial discounts.
After rounding up quotes, our goal is to raise roughly $250,000.
Current balance in shed donation account - $33,744.
We understand this objective will take time and quotes will change, which is why the
goal amount is approximate.
Besides personal donations, the club will use one or more of its fundraiser events this year to raise money specifically for this project. More details to come on that. If you have other specific questions about how your gift is being used, or other club inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
